About Me

  • I am a mom over 45. I have 3 kids and I am still sane. My kids are old enough now that I have a bit of time for myself. I am discovering that there is life after kids!

  • DS#2 in one day

    1. knocks the shower door off its track and leaves it laying in the tub/shower without telling me
    2. locks himself out of the house and had to call his brother to come and unlock the door
    3. so, therefore, he was 20 minutes late for school
    4. the car he was driving has the battery warning light on now
    5. I'm not sure what else... but I am sure I forgot something

    kids are something else!

  • trying to eat healthy and lose a few pounds before the "feasting" holidays begin. I started a food journal. it is amazing how much junk i was putting in my mouth without realizing it. But healthy food seems to cost more. Why? gotta find the balance...

  • bored, so put up a new profile pic.

our DS has been driving one of our cars this summer. we trust him but, nevertheless, my DH started recording the milage every Sunday morning. to our surprise he was putting on 200 to 300 miles each week!  we don't know where he has been driving because his job and his friends are only a few blocks away. when confronted he just blows it off as "had to go to Best Buy, to Target, to blah, blah, blah." he never really comes out and explains. we may follow him ( in cognito) one night! talk about spying on your kids... or maybe install a hidden camera?  do I really even want to know?

DH lets him stay out until 2am..which is way too late for anyone. but DH doesn't remember when our DD wanted to stay out until 2am and he said no. we had the mother of all battles with her. it was ugly and people's feelings got hurt. maybe he is trying to let our DS go easily so he will come back someday instead of leaving angry and never returning..... ahhhhhhhhh, the joys of parenting. LOL

  • Gas finally dropped to $2.79/gallon but I still can't bring myself to put in more than $20 at one time. I don't know which place has the most of my money - the grocery store or the gas station. We may start a garden next year just to lower the food bill. We do have tomatoes and pumpkins this year. In fact, I went outside and picked a tomato for my sandwich today! I love the taste of a vine ripened tomato.
